Purchasing a precious piece of Jewelry is an investment, and like a piece of Art, properly storing it and maintenance cleaning will extend the enjoyment of wear and life of your piece!

A simple guide to keep your Jewelry pieces sparkly clean between wear.
The easiest way to maintain your jewelry pieces at home is with a gentle lather of mild soap, warm water, and a soft tooth brush. For example, Buttery body lotion (I am soooo guilty of this !!!) absolutely loves to glide on skin and jewelry. So a routine rinse is enough to keep your pieces clean.
Rings, especially when worn daily, accumulate quite a bit of build on the finger and can often times cause irritation to the skin. Give it a little extra brush on the underside of the ring.
Rinse your piece in Water and pat dry with a paper towel.
Having a jewelers' cleaning cloth handy , using the inside layer of the cloth which has a light polishing compound; gently rub your jewelry piece. It will bring out the shine and luster in the precious metal, diamonds and gemstones. Use the outside layer of the cloth for a final clean.
And Voila....sparkly & ready to wear!

We usually recommend bringing in your pieces to a Jeweler to check the prongs and settings every six months to a year. Engagement Rings or Wedding bands with stones get a lot more wear on a day to day basis. If you have rings that are 14K or 18K white gold, a plating a rhodium can also be done at this time as the normal wear of natural yellow gold can begin to show through. If you notice any deep scratches on the surface of the metal (we mostly see this on the bottom outside of rings) professional polishing on a buffing wheel can restore the surface of the piece.
Cleaning in an ultra sonic machine, cleaning solution & steam is a complimentary service provided at a Jewelry Store.
The general rule to avoid ultra sonic machines for cleaning is with softer, porous or treated stones such as Opals, Turquoise and Coral.
